Nicole Scherzinger is opening up about her experience aging in Hollywood.
During a recent interview, the 45-year-old Pussycat Dolls hitmaker said that ageism in the industry was still a big problem.
She also revealed that she felt it when she she was first offered her newest role – starring in a West End production of Sunset Boulevard, which launched last month.

“It’s just as relevant today. And it’s still very brutal,” Nicole told the Sunday Times, adding “Even if I look like I’m 37 or something…” to imply that there was no way around beating it.
On that topic, Nicole also addressed being offered the lead in Sunset Boulevard, which finds her playing an aging Hollywood actress who attempts to find her way back into the spotlight.
“I was like, ‘Are you out of your mind? First of all, I still look great under bright lights. And isn’t that an older woman who is, like, an old relic? How does that even remotely have anything to do with me,” she wanted to know.
However, with a deeper look she discovered some “parallels” that helped her relate to the character.
