Martin Dubravka received 'offensive' messages from a section of Newcastle supporters after he signed for Manchester United on loan.
Dubravka joined United on a season-long loan in the summer transfer window and the club paid a £2million loan fee to sign him, but the move failed and Newcastle eventually made the decision to recall the Slovakian in January.
Although Dubravka was expected to play in Europa League fixtures and domestic cup matches for United, David de Gea remained first choice in Europe, which mean he was given just two starts in the Carabao Cup early rounds.

The goalkeeper has featured only twice for Eddie Howe's side since his loan recall and he's now opened up on the abuse he received for making the switch to Old Trafford, which saw a minority on Tyneside direct anger at him.
Dubravka is one of Newcastle’s longest-serving players, but a section of the North East club's supporters were not happy at his decision to sign for United on loan, instead of fighting for his place with Nick Pope as the No.1.
“Some [of the messages] were very harsh. Some of them were very offensive, to my family and myself," Dubravka told The Mirror. “I was thinking: Do I deserve this, after five years being here, trying to do my best for the club. But that’s football.
"Not everyone can love you. That’s not this world. Twitter? The abuse there. I didn’t expect that. But there was the other side of the fans who appreciated the time I’ve spent here, and they showed me love even when I came back.
"To be in Manchester was a big challenge, it is a huge club, a huge fan base, but this is my home. I’d always given my best for Newcastle, for the fans. I stayed
