Every week here at Official Charts we compile our fancy list of single, album and home entertainment releases; bringing you the latest music you need to know about. Let's dive into this week's, shall we?
One of the big ones this week is the re-release of the Sex Pistols' anti-monarchist symphony God Save The Queen, which is being re-pressed just in time for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Pre-orders on both versions of the physical single have sold out, so keep an eye to see if the Pistols return to the Official Singles Chart this time next week. Read more about God Save The Queen's original release and the chart battle it caused here.
Good megamixes are few and far between - you can definitively count Grease and The Saturdays in these ranks, but Little Mix's celebratory megamix last year seemed to split fans down the middle. We imagine fans of Steps won't have any such problems. The new Platinum Megamix, released to celebrate the incoming Platinum Collection is a platinum-plated walk-through Steps' pop catalogue, giving songs both old and new their time to shine. We're big fans. Read our interview with Lisa and Faye about the new release here.
US rockers Panic! At The Disco are also preparing for their return - new track Viva Las Vengeance takes Brendon Urie back home to Las Vegas, and shows how far he's levelled up.
Elsewhere, we also have new singles dropping from Maggie Rogers (Want Want is a brilliantly left-of-centre pop-rock romp), Calum Scott (coming into his own just in time for Pride Month with Boys on the Street) and after a few years, the return of Jax Jones and Martin Solveig's dance super-group Europa (new single Lonely Heart with Gracey picks up where the magnificent All Day And Night left off).
