Alvvays have announced they’ll kick off a North American headline tour in October, and have also seemingly teased new music.The Canadian dream pop outfit will commence the run on October 14 in Chicago, continuing along with shows in Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Texas, Washington, Philadelphia, New York and more before wrapping up November 18 in Boston. Joining the band on the road will be Slow Pulp.

Sony Music last week told the high court in London that a dispute over the rights in the Jimi Hendrix Experience recordings should be heard in the New York courts, because the legal battle centres on agreements signed in the 1970s in the US. And a separate lawsuit in relation to this dispute has already been filed with the courts in New York.The dispute is between Sony Music and the Jimi Hendrix estate on one side, and UK-based companies representing the estates of the other two members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience band – Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell – on the other.

Menudo: Forever Young,” the HBO Max docuseries about the titular Latin American boy band, has been released.Directed by filmmakers Angel Manuel Soto and Kristofer Ríos, the four-part docuseries follows the rise of Menudo, a Puerto Rican musical group formed in 1977 by producer Edgardo Díaz that became one of the most popular boy bands in history, selling 20 million records worldwide during the 1980s. The series chronicles the group’s meteoric rise in the ’80s, and the fall it suffered during the ’90s, after sexual abuse allegations against Díaz surfaced.

BTS have announced the launch of pop-up stores in New York City and Los Angeles to coincide with the release of their upcoming compilation album, ‘Proof’.The pop-up stores will be opening in the US cities tomorrow (June 10), in celebration of BTS’ new anthology album ‘Proof’, which is set to be released on the same day. Local 802 of the American Federation of Musicians has issued a “Do Not Work” order against Distinguished Concerts International New York, labeling it an “unfair employer.” The move comes more than two years after DCINY’s orchestra formed a union with Local 802, though the parties have yet to reach an agreement on a first-time contract.

Musicians will rally Monday outside Carnegie Hall for a fair contract with Distinguished Concerts International New York, a for-profit company that holds most of its concerts at the celebrated venue. The rally will start at 6 pm ET.
