Netflix is going live, again.
The streamer has set its first live reunion special for one of its reality shows – handing a special event to Love Is Blind.
The dating show, which is in its fourth season, will air Love Is Blind: The Live Reunion from LA on Sunday April 16 at 8pm ET.
It comes after the roll out of Chris Rock’s comedy special Selective Outrage, which was the streamer’s first move into live programming that aired in March. Deadline revaled last May that the streamer was exploring live technology for exactly this reason.
Hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey will join the cast for the special and help the audience digest who said ‘I do’ and who didn’t.
The reunion will be produced by Embassy Row (the parent show is produced by Kinetic Content) and will see Brandon Monk serve as showrunner and exec producing with Michael Davies.
In addition the Love Is Blind cast are bringing their pods to fans in New York, Nashville and LA ahead of the reunion.
The fourth season of the show premiered on March 24 and has rolled out in batches with the final episode airing on April 12.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Netflix co-CEOs Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters revealed what exactly went wrong with the live “Love Is Blind” Season 4 reunion special on Sunday — and how they plan to fix the problem with other live broadcasts moving forward. “We’re really sorry to disappoint so many people,” Peters said during a prerecorded Q1 earnings interview Tuesday. “We didn’t meet the standard that we expect ourselves: to serve our members and just be clear from a technical perspective. We’ve got the infrastructure. We had just a bug that we introduced, actually, when we implemented some changes to try to improve live-streaming performance after the last live broadcast, Chris Rock[‘s ‘Selective Outrage’] in March. We just didn’t see this bug in internal testing because it only became apparent once we put multiple systems interacting with each other under the load of millions of people trying to watch ‘Love Is Blind.'”

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Netflix has ordered its first ever pilot. The streaming giant, which has typically opted to order projects straight to series, has greenlit a pilot for the single-camera comedy “Little Sky,” Variety has confirmed. Samara Weaving is attached to star in the pilot, which hails from creator Rightor Doyle. According to an invidual with knowledge of the situation, Netflix does not plan to shift to the traditional broadcast model of ordering multiple pilots and comparing them for potential series orders. The “Little Sky” pilot is the only one planned at present. Nevertheless, the fact that Netflix is willing to order a pilot is significant. The streamer has heavily influenced broadcast networks and other outlets in recent years into using a script-to-series model and mini rooms, the latter of which are a sticking point in the current WGA negotiations. To that point, the number of pilots ordered at the major broadcast networks during the current traditional pilot season has reached an all-time low, with just 14 pilots ordered to date.
