If you've been a Neighbours fan since the 90s, you'll definitely remember the Alessi twins, Christina and Caroline played by Gayle and Gillian Blakeney who now look totally different. Identical twins Gillian and Gayle Blakeney, who are now 57 years old, shot to fame on the Australian soap during the 1990s and they certainly had their fair share of dramatic storylines.
Shortly after moving onto Ramsay Street, the twins were placed under witness protection after seeing a murder unfold in an explosive storyline, not quite the welcome the characters were expecting. Wanting to make the most of their identical features, they pretended to be the same person called Linda Giles before they were uncovered by local baddie, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).
They got mixed up in a sea of romantic storylines including Christina marrying Paul, only for Caroline to have fallen for his charm and leave the neighbourhood. They left the soap at different times in 1992 and returned for three episodes in 2019 before they quit acting altogether to focus on life away from Ramsey Street. The sisters spent a short period of time in a band called The Twins and released the track All Mixed Up in 1992 and Mad If Ya Don't the following year.
Today, Gayle and Gillian who hail from Australia, look unrecognisable as they live in California with their partners and children. Starting a family, the twins became pregnant at the same time, Gayle giving birth just seven weeks before her sister.
Gillian has a daughter called Stella, while Gayle has a son called Jack and went on to have twins herself. In a Facebook video shared back in 2018, the twins looked miles away from their on screen characters as they both glammed up in black to celebrate their pals
