Australia. The actor, who had appeared in Australian soap Neighbours, was found dead at a beach in Fremantle near Perth on Thursday. According to reports in the country, Peter had flown from London to Perth just before his death to visit his mother.
He was said to have been snorkelling at South Beach when he ran into trouble in the water. Peter starred in Neighbours as Jimmy Drane in three episodes of the series in 1997. However, in Australia, he was best known by fans for his roles in McLeod's Daughters and Chopper.

In a statement on social media, Michael wrote: "I'm devastated to say that my brother, Peter Hardy, passed away suddenly this morning. "Rest in Peace my beloved little brother. "Despite reports, the exact circumstances behind Peter's death have not been officially confirmed yet.
It has been reported that bystanders on the beach tried to save the actor's life. They are said to have desperately performed CPR until paramedics arrived at the location. Sadly, emergency services couldn't save Peter and he tragically died at the scene.
Peter was born in Perth and began his career as an actor in the mid 1980s, earning himself plenty of film and TV appearances. Following the devastating news of his death, tributes have been pouring in for the star. Friend Andy Burns said: "On the morning of March 16 a dear friend was taken from us.
