Musician Jesse Malin has revealed he suffered a stroke, and unfortunately, is now paralyzed.
The 56-year-old opened up in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, where he detailed when the incident occurred, his treatments and how he’s doing now.

Jesse shared that his stroke occurred at the top of May, while he was out to dinner in NYC’s East Village. The stroke that he suffered was a spinal cord infarction and he shared that he instantly felt a burning pain running in his lower back before it went on, into his lower extremities, before he collapsed.
“Everybody was standing above me like in Rosemary’s Baby, saying all these different things, and I was there not knowing what was going on with my body,” Jesse recalled, before he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital by an ambulance.
Since then, Jesse added, he’s been paralyzed from the waist down and has been using a wheelchair in his recovery.
“This is the hardest six weeks that I’ve ever had,” he said. “I’m told that they don’t really understand it, and they’re not sure of the chances. The reports from the doctors have been tough, and there’s moments in the day where you want to cry, and where you’re scared. But I keep saying to myself that I can make this happen. I can recover my body.”
Jesse says he went through a lot of spinal procedures before being sent to a rehab center a few weeks later.
He also shared that he’s trying to retain a “P.M.A.”, a “positive mental attitude”, throughout his ordeal.
“They took me outside for the first time the other day in a wheelchair, and I went through the lobby and I could see the sun shining through the glass, and I just started bawling. It felt like I was watching myself in this movie,” Jesse said. “I
