A murder probe has been launched after a woman was killed in a crash in Falkirk on Saturday evening.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash on the B902 New Carron Road at around 6.10pm.
The 27-year-old female driver of a silver Vauxhall Vectra involved in the collision suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her death is being treated as suspicious and enquiries are currently ongoing, with detectives hunting for the occupants of a black Mercedes C-Class last seen heading north on the B902 New Carron Road.
A 22-year-old male passenger of the Vauxhall Vectra was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. While a 39-year-old man, who was driving a black Volkswagen Tiguan, suffered minor injuries.
Detectives are now appealing for information to help trace a black Mercedes C-Class, containing a number of people, which fled the scene.
Shortly before the crash, the occupants of the Vauxhall and the Mercedes were involved in an altercation at an address in Foundry Street, Falkirk.
This subsequently led to the Mercedes 'dangerously' pursuing the Vauxhall on New Carron Road - causing it to crash with the Volkswagen Tiguan.
Officers from Police Scotland are urging anyone who was in the area around the time of these incidents and has information which may assist their inquiry to get in touch.
Anyone with CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage is also urged to contact police.
