A mum claims her Christmas gifts were stolen by an Evri courier and then sold on at a car boot sale. The woman alleges her missing parcel turned up at the budget market, 60 miles from her home.
The 38-year-old had ordered clothes online that were due to be delivered on November 13. However, they never arrived, which alerted the suspicions of the Norfolk mother.
She was left stunned when she was informed by a stranger that they had found her missing parcel but it was miles away from her address. The stranger told her that they were attending a car boot sale in Suffolk when they came across the peculiar find, reports the Daily Star.
They found the woman's missing package still in the bag, with her name and address on it. The Mail claims that it ended up there when a delivery driver's wife took a van full of packages to sell. However, she was rumbled when the stranger noticed the unique packaging and told the mother the whereabouts of her delivery.
The woman said: "I thought it might be the driver, so my husband phoned him and he said he was at a car boot sale in Suffolk and my parcel, still in its packaging with my name and address on, is being sold."
The mother is not the only unhappy customer from the delivery firm, with another client saying the company 'ruined his Christmas'. Darren Hilton, 51, alleges that Evri have lost approximately £800 worth of presents that he ordered.
He said: "It's just ruined our Christmas. Every single order which has been shipped by Evri, I don't know where it is. Where are these parcels going? Have they got a depot for lost parcels?"
An Evri spokesperson said the company was investigating the car boot sale claims and added: "We are currently delivering more than three million parcels a day.
