Shoppers at Morrisons will soon notice a major change at their stores nationwide, following a successful trial of measures that could be the secret to keeping the kids entertained while parents do the weekly shop.
The supermarket chain is rolling out a new experience for children at their stores, with child-sized trolleys and checkouts, after a popular trial of these miniature measures at a Morrisons in Shrewsbury. The child checkouts will be run by staff, who will walk the mini-shoppers through using the checkout.
During the trial, a sign next to one of the child-only tills read: "At this child friendly till, your children are able to scan your shopping through the till for you. The checkout operator is there for guidance. We hope you enjoy the experience. Please be patient, children at work."

So that parents can keep track of their little shoppers, each of the miniature children's trolleys has a little white flag on it, while the kid's checkout will be made to look child friendly, with clear signs and bright colours.
This is another step towards improving customer satisfaction, which the supermarket indicated in January was its drive for the first quarter of 2024. Last week, Morrisons announced that it would be expanding its "Quiet Hours" scheme, which makes it easier for neurodivergent people to access the supermarket by reducing loud noises and other stimuli.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we are introducing Child Friendly checkouts into our stores. We want customers of all ages to enjoy shopping at Morrisons and know our younger shoppers are often keen to help out at the tills so we welcome
