Voluminous, extravagant hairstyles are always on the cards for RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants, but Michelle Keegan is giving our Drag Race UK Versus The World queens a run for their money with her guest judge look – well, if running were possible in 8-inch heels. The actress transformed her lengths with the help of hairspray and secrets (likely in the form of backcombing and extensions) to get ready for her one-off panel appearance. The full episode is yet to air, but we have been treated to an advance teaser where Michelle is shown looking nothing short of fierce with a voluminous updo.
The star’s brunette lengths have been pulled up into a half up-do, with her curtain bangs styled to fall across her forehead. She’s also given the look a modern update by wrapping a section of her hair around the ponytail, and by giving her ends a glam Hollywood wave. The former Corrie star is usually a fan of a subtle makeup look, but subtle is definitely not the theme of the night for her on the show, as she’s wearing lengthy false lashes and a plenty of blusher.
Michelle is joined on the panel by Strictly Come Dancing star Clara Amfo, who also looks fabulous with a similarly dramatic makeup look and high updo. Michelle’s RuPaul appearance comes shortly after she caused “airtouch balayage” to trend on Google following a trip to see her colourist Calum Tierney.
If you’re wondering exactly what that sort of balayage is, Calum took the time to explain it to us. “This is my signature colour technique called colour contour.
I’ve used this to take Michelle’s hair a bit lighter than usual,” he said. “I used Wella hair colour, and since we wanted to go a little sunkissed with look, I used an airtouch balayage technique at the back of the head
