The Met Office has teased that 'good news' is on the way after a day of strong winds with weather warnings issued across the UK.
A yellow alert for wind was issued for parts of the UK, with Greater Manchester among the areas covered in the warning until 10pm on Monday (April 15).
Wind gusts of over 50mph were experienced in some areas, along with heavy April showers and hail. The weather alert warned that delays to transport were 'likely', while power supplies could also be affected.

Forecasting for the UK for Monday, the Met Office said: “A narrow band of squally heavy rain clearing England and Wales by late morning. Blustery showers, with hail and thunder already in the north spreading to all parts during the afternoon. Feeling colder than of late, with gusty winds.”
However, on Monday afternoon, forecasters said that 'good news' was on the way for this coming weekend (April 20-21), with high pressure set to bring much warmer and drier conditions to the UK.
A band of high-pressure building over the Atlantic will move eastwards in the direction of the UK towards the end of the week with warmer conditions to 'dominate the UK' over the weekend.
Meteorologist Alex Deakin, from the Met Office, said 'dry and fine weather' will be experienced across the UK on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures nearing 20C in some areas. There will also be occasional sunny spells throughout the weekend.
It comes as it was announced by forecasters that the UK is set to brace for weeks of potentially dry and hot sunny weather due to 'high pressure' conditions towards the end of April.
