Met Office gives date on when October heatwave will end in Greater Manchester

October’s mini heatwave is set to end this week after the month kicked off with an unseasonable warm spell. The country has enjoyed warm and pleasant conditions over recent days with temperatures reaching the mid 20s in some areas.
But you’ll need to dig out your big coat again soon as the weather is expected to take a turn in the second half of the week. Temperatures in Greater Manchester are expected to plummet to 11C by the weekend, even though highs of 21C are forecast for tomorrow.
The Met Office predicts highs of 19C today in Greater Manchester (Monday, October 9) with temperatures set to remain warm in the evening. Don’t hold your breath if you’re hoping for some sunshine though as it’s expected to stay cloudy throughout the day.

On Tuesday, temperatures are set to soar to 21C by 2pm, although it will feel slightly cooler at 18C. It will be a mild evening, too, with the mercury only dropping below 17C at midnight.
Forecasting for the North West, the Met Office said: “Early mist, fog and low cloud lifting to leave brighter skies for most. Fine through most of the afternoon but increasingly blustery with showers possible by the evening. Rather warm. Maximum temperature 21C.”
However, the October heatwave is set to come to an end on Wednesday when conditions are set to return to what we would usually expect at this time of year. Forecasters predict a high of 15C for Greater Manchester, with a low of 9C.
We can expect some heavy rain showers on Wednesday too, so it’s time to get the raincoat out. It’s a similar outlook for
