There were surprises from the outset on the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest, what with Kate Middleton's piano playing opening the show in Liverpool. But Mel Giedroyc also caused a frenzy later in the final as she paid homage to an iconic Eurovision moment.
Mel, who is sharing the commentary duties with Graham Norton, appeared behind glam presenter Hannah Waddingham performing a saucy butter churning spectacle in costume. Mel gazed suggestively into the camera as she got to work.
The official BBC Eurovision Twitter shouted excitedly: "MEL GIEDROYC AS A BUTTER CHURNING POLISH MILKMAID! GIVE HER AN NTA RIGHT NOW!" And @bbceurovision added: "Just when I thought I couldn't love Mel any more."

After Ted Lasso star Hannah was hailed a crush for her presenting of the semi-finals, viewers shared their love for Mel on Twitter. @SarahSallyRobe1 praised: "All power to you Mel, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
