Meghan Markle and Prince Harry presented a long list of strange requests during their high-profile visit to New York City in 2021 for their Netflix docuseries to ensure the trip went exactly how they wanted it to.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly requested cushions, a new carpet and outdoor space for their filming at a public school in one of the lowest-income areas of the city according to emails obtained by the Daily Mail.
The Sussexes' visited the school in September 2021, 18 months after their dramatic exit from the royal family and the demanded items such as the cushions were said to have been brought in to match Meghan's aesthetic.
The emails seen by the publication also showed that Archewell staff decided which school the couple visited and went through multiple edits of the press release to make sure their visit sounded "more substantial".
The press list for their events during their three day long trip were also very controlled and restricted to publications close to the Duchess with British tabloids such as The Sun being banned, the Express reports.
Files also showed that Archewell staff had asked for consent forms to be signed to ensure that no negative comments were made publicly both after the visit and in the future.
The consent forms which school staff and students were asked to sign banned them from discussing the project altogether.
The intended purpose of the couple's visit was to paint them as world leaders, with the Susssexes' also making a stop at the United Nations to discuss vaccine equity.
