Maya Jama says Love Island 'works' and shares message to engaged Molly-Mae and Tommy

Love Island host Maya Jama has said that the show "works", as she shared a special message to Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague after their engagement.The pair were runners-up in the 2019 series of the show and have since gone from strength-to strength, with them welcoming daughter Bambi earlier this year. Just an hour before Love Island: Aftersun went live on Sunday night, Molly-Mae and Tommy announced their engagement, as they shared a sweet video of Tommy popping the question.
With the news being so fresh, Maya wasted no time in mentioning the special news. Maya, 28, started by saying: "Before we get into the chat, I’ve got some breaking news, everyone! If you haven’t been on Instagram, Molly-Mae and Tommy have just got engaged! Congratulations! "See, Love Island works!" She then continued to say: "They’ve got a baby, engagement, just a happy ever after!" Her show co-host Sam Thompson then chipped in and said: "Money!" Joking Maya, then said: "Loads of money! All of that stuff!" Tommy, 24, got down on bended knee and proposed to Molly-Mae at a stunning cliffside location.
Molly, also 24, held their baby girl Bambi in her arms as she said yes, and the pair shared a hug with many tears flowing.The video on social media quickly racked up millions of likes and thousands of comments. Maya was amongst the first to comment on the post and congratulate the couple.
She said: "WE LOVE TO SEE IT! Congratulations you cuteys." Many Love Island stars were also in the comments section with messages of support. Molly-Mae's close pal Maura Higgins replied and said: "BALLING AGAIN!!!!!!!!! ILYSM BALLING AGAIN!!!!!!!!! ILYSM." 2019 winner Amber Gill also wished the couple well as she wrote: "Congrats you two babes.
