Masked Singer's Aled Jones breaks silence on daughter Emilia's Bafta nod: 'We're so proud'

TV fans were talking about singer Aled Jones on Saturday night, after the legendary star was revealed to be Traffic Cone on The Masked Singer. But the Welsh singer, who found fame 40 years ago, knows there’s an even bigger buzz right now around another member of his family – his 19 year old daughter Emilia Jones. Emilia just won herself a BAFTA nod for her performance in the 2021 film CODA and as Aled spoke to OK! after his Masked Singer exit, the Jones clam were eagerly waiting to see if the critically-acclaimed movie will make the Oscars shortlist.

Emilia is up against industry big hitters such as Frances McDormand, Olivia Colman and Nicole Kidman in the Best Actress category, and Aled and his wife Claire couldn’t be more delighted. “I am really proud,” Aled exclusively told OK!. “She’s a really hard worker and a lovely person," he added.
"She’s having an amazing time and I’m enjoying just being a proud dad.” And he admits that it’s having a great time watching another member of the Jones clan in the limelight, after his 40 year career as a singer and later a TV presenter, on shows such as Songs Of Praise, Escape To The Country and Weekend. “As I say I’m just the proud dad basically," he continued. "Everything she does really…I’m just beaming from ear to ear.” While all Masked Singer stars are forbidden from telling anyone about the fact they're on the show.
