After panellists Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse, Davina McCall, Peter Crouch and guest panellist John Bishop, deliberated – they decided to boot Odd Socks, unmasking the character as Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh. As host Joel Dommett revealed there had been a Girls Aloud nod in every single clue package, Kimberley, 40, said: “I did this for my kids, they love this show.They have no idea." She continued: "I had to pick Odd Socks, I’m a mum of three boys, that’s my life.” Fans were quick to comment as one person wrote: "OMG Kimberley Walsh! Never had guessed that! ITV show sees judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and Peter Crouch guess which famous faces are behind the costumes as they take to the stage to perform dances. This week saw the final six cut down to five as one more star was unmasked. Candlestick was revealed to be The Great British Bake Off’s Liam Charles, much to the delight of fans watching at home.
And many viewers were surprised by the result - mainly due to Liam’s dancing skills. ”Another viewer said: “He more than held his own against trained professional dancers - his performances set the dance floor alight!” They added: “And I bet kids loved that reveal - he’s a hero on Junior Bake Off. ” Some fans even called for Liam to take part in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing to show off more of his moves. “Liam Charles dances better than most of the celebs on Strictly at the moment,” one viewer Tweeted.
But some Masked Dancer fans expressed their disappointment that Liam had left the competition so soon. “I’m so shocked that he’s gone, I thought he was a finalist!” one person admitted. “Lovely guy, great dancer - deserved to be in the final,” another added.
