Selome Hailu The CW has given a series order to “Sherlock & Daughter,” a scripted series starring David Thewlis. With Thewlis as Sherlock Holmes, the series puts the detective out of his comfort zone, mysteriously unable to investigate a sinister case without risking the lives of his closest friends. He then meets Amelia (Blu Hunt), an American who, after her mother’s mysterious murder, learns that Sherlock may be her missing father.

Northerners are paying £250 a year more than they should on their council tax bills, according to a leading think tank. The Northern Powerhouse Partnership says that introducing a fairer system would save the North of England a total of £1.2bn a year in council tax.
