Manchester United favourite Louis Saha has urged Erik ten Hag to keep Scott McTominay - amid reported interest from Newcastle - as the Frenchman can see him partnering Casemiro.
McTominay featured regularly alongside Christian Eriksen during early-season games as United bided their time to sign Casemiro and unleash him in the side. That came following a heavy defeat to Manchester City and Scotland international McTominay has only started once in the Premier League since that 6-3 drubbing.
Casemiro and his influence on the United squad has been clear for all to see. However, as things stand, that man McTominay has rarely played alongside him.

Due to that lack of game-time, Newcastle were linked with the 26-year-old during the January window and have been tipped to come calling when the market reopens. However, according to Saha, that would mark a huge mistake from Ten Hag when it comes to shaping his plans.
During his Betfred promotion, former United and Newcastle striker Saha said: "I'm a big fan of Scotty. I feel a bit sorry for him, because when Casemiro arrived you knew Scott would need that time to learn off him. Who knows, he could potentially be a partner for Casemiro in the future."
Saha added: "Newcastle are a club that certainly want to go places and, from Scott's personal perspective, I can understand that he wants to focus on his own career and reach the highest level possible, but I would be sad to see him go... I would advise him to wait and see what Erik ten Hag has planned for him going into next season first."
