Kalvin Phillips has been told he does not need to leave Leeds this summer despite interest from Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag is on the hunt for midfielders this summer with a host of central players set to leave next month when their contracts expire. Ruben Neves and Frenkie de Jong have both been linked with an Old Trafford switch before deadline day.
Phillips has also been touted for a United move after discussions over a new contract at Leeds stalled, albeit he still has two years left on his current deal. Rivals Manchester City have also been tipped to enquire about the 26-year-old.

However, former Celtic and Aston Villa forward Alan McInally believes Phillips should rebuff all approaches and instead stay at Leeds, where he is guaranteed game time. Speaking to Football Accumulators’ podcast ‘The Group Chat’, he said: “We’re forgetting one huge point here.
“Leeds United are a Premier League football team. He got into the England team playing for Leeds United, and Leeds will want to make their squad stronger.”
“So does he have to move? Not particularly, because if he can play for Leeds, with the season they had, and still be involved with the England squad then there’s no real emergency to move.
“There will be teams who are wanting to try to get him away from Leeds but does he need to go? Not particularly, because he’s going to play every game as long as he’s fit at Leeds.”
