A man who put trackers on a victim's car before he was kidnapped claims he didn't know he would be abducted and tortured - telling a jury he thought the plan was just to steal from him. Delroy Chin, 47, accepts he was 'part of a criminal conspiracy', but denies he was part of a kidnap plot.
He accepts putting trackers on a VW Caddy and an Audi belonging to the man, but claimed they were for the purpose of stealing cash and drugs. Mr Chin addressed jurors at a Manchester Crown Court trial on Tuesday (April 30).
Also on trial is co-accused Shaun Freeman, 29, who is alleged to have divulged information about the man - including his car registration - to a group who went on to snatch the man and take him to a lock-up before burning and Tasering him, jurors have heard.

Jurors previously heard six men have been convicted of conspiracy to kidnap - Micah Walfall, 39, of no fixed address; Daniel Lowe, 32, of Greenwood Road, Northampton; Ben Ukaegbu, 42, of no fixed address; John Bishop, 35, of Stanley Road, Chingford, London; Nicky Barnes, 31, of Byfield Road, Northampton; and Michael Etuhu, 39, of Abbeycroft Close, Tyldesley, Bury.
The man, jurors have heard, was 'arrested' by three men posing as plain-clothes police officers in April 2019. He was taken to a lock-up where he was tortured.
His arms were singed with a blowtorch and his testicles Tasered, jurors have heard, and £500,00 ransom demands were made to his family. Police were called and the kidnappers were intercepted after 12 hours, the court has been told.
Giving evidence, Mr Chin reiterated that he believed he was part of a plot to steal cash and drugs from the man, not to kidnap
