Several current and former Manchester United stars have moved to send messages of support to Kean Bryan after the former Manchester City starlet was forced into early retirement.
Bryan announced in an emotional message on Instagram on Wednesday that he was having to bring his career to a premature end at the age of 27. The former defender has been unable to recover from a knee injury that has plagued him for two years and has retired on medical advice.
Bryan was born in Manchester and joined the City academy at age 11, where he would go on to captain the youth side. He spent a decade at the club before joining Sheffield United on a free transfer. He would make his Premier League debut in 2020 after a loan spell at Bolton Wanderers. He scored his first and only goal in the top flight in a win over United in 2021.

He then joined West Brom but played just three times before suffering a cruciate ligament injury that ended his career. Several high-profile players have replied to his announcement on Instagram.
Scott McTominay wrote: "All the best brother, lots of love," a message echoed by Eric Bailly, who wrote: "All the best to you and your family my friend."
Former United youngster Ravel Morrison wrote: "Brother I wish you all the best on your next chapter, we had some long drives together but real good times, was an honour to play with you & an honour to call you a real good friend."
City's on-loan midfielder Tommy Doyle added: "Good luck for the future mate."
