Man found dead after police called to flats

A man was found dead on a street in Tameside after police received a concern for welfare report.
Officers were called to Town Lane in Denton in around 6.30pm last night (Wednesday). A police cordon was put in place at the scene as firefighters and paramedics also attended.
Crime scene investigators were spotted working in some flats behind the cordon. Police have confirmed this morning that a 58-year-old man was tragically found dead at the scene.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. A report will be prepared for the coroner and an inquest will open at a later date.
In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "On Wednesday 24 August 2022, Police received a report at around 6:30pm about the concern for the welfare of a male at Town Lane, Denton. Emergency services attended to assist and despite their best efforts, a 58-year-old man was sadly pronounced at the scene.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report is being prepared for the coroner."
