A man has died as a search has been launched for a vehicle which was seen leaving the scene of a horror crash. Emergency services rushed to Liverpool Road in Bickerstaffe, England, at around 4am on Wednesday, August 30,to reports that a Volkswagen T-Roc had been involved in a crash.
Officers have confirmed that a man in his 30s was taken from the scene to hospital after suffering serious injuries. Tragically he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are now hunting for a dark coloured Audi which was seen leaving the scene. Detective Inspector Ian Moore, of the Force Major Investigation Team, told the Liverpool Echo: "Sadly a man has lost his life and first and foremost our thoughts are with his family and friends. We send them our deepest condolences at this awful time.
"An Audi – described as possibly being a Q3 in a dark colour – was seen leaving the scene in Bickerstaffe and we need to trace this vehicle as a matter of urgency. If this was you, or you know who it was, please get in touch straight away. We are working extremely hard to piece together what occurred and would also like to hear from anybody with any other information about the collision.
"Perhaps you think you know who was involved, or maybe you were in the Bickerstaffe area shortly before 4am today and saw something suspicious or have dashcam footage that could assist us. Whatever information you have, please let us know.
"A man has lost his life and his family deserve answers as to what happened. Anybody with information is asked to contact us on 101, quoting log 146 of August 30th."
