Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal in principle to sign Boca Juniors' Valentin Barco.
The 19-year-old is a rising star at the Argentine club and is predominantly deployed in a left-back role. So far this season, Barco has scored once and grabbed two assists.
However, the teenager's overall game has caught the eye of many in Europe including City. According to TYC Sports journalist German Garcia Grova, an agreement has been reached between the club and the player for the transfer.
City's negotiation team have now travelled to South America to conduct further talks with Boca to try and push the deal over the line. Brighton were thought to be interested in Barco but the lure of the Blues was enough to convince the teenager to move to Manchester.

It was originally believed City were trying to hash out a deal with Boca but instead changed their approach and went directly to the player so as to strengthen their negotiating position. Elsewhere, an unnamed football agent is now convinced Kalvin Phillips will be leaving City in January.
In an article for The Athletic, football agents were kept anonymous and asked for their thoughts on the transfer window. One of the agents was asked about Phillips and he was reportedly adamant he will leave at the next available opportunity.
It is unclear whether they see him moving on loan or permanently but it is fair to suggest the former option is most likely. Recently, Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Phillips in the winter.
