A food blogger has become the first person ever to complete a gargantuan eating challenge made up of over 32 ounces of meat.
Adam Moran, who vlogs under the username BeardMeetsFood to 2.5 million YouTube subscribers, took on The Mountain Air's Mount Mixed Grill challenge at the eatery in Tredegar, South Wales. It comprises a whopping 16oz gammon, 16oz steak, two chicken breasts, four pork steaks, two lamb chops, four jumbo sausages, four fried eggs, garden peas, onion rings and chips.
It normally costs £60 – but the Mirror reports that if you can eat it within an hour, it's free. When Adam, from Yorkshire, arrived, he was greeted by an old woman who warned him: "You won't eat all that."
Keen to prove disbelievers wrong, the foodie demolished the entire platter in 37 minutes - even pausing halfway through to show the elderly cynic his half-finished meal. He even had room for a slice of lemon meringue pie before he left.
Adam is a keen food challenge enthusiast and competitive eater, regularly travelling the world to take on restaurants' biggest plates. His video of the Mountain Air platter has already notched up over a million views after being posted on Monday.
Commenters to the video on YouTube were quick to show their support for the meat-eating machine. One person wrote: "Da iawn cariad! Really smashed that one! The typical Welsh nanas helped with the entertainment, the natter from them filled me with Welsh pride. Well done Adam!"
While another said: "That mixed grill looks absolutely savage, to be honest. Rare to see gammon steak, fine size too. The food looked lovely."
