Since Netflix released its first look at “Maestro” last month, anticipation for Bradley Cooper’s follow-up to 2016’s “A Star Is Born” went through the roof. And that hype is well-deserved.

Bradley Cooper poured his heart out and openly spoke about an unpleasant chapter of his youth when he had an encounter with addiction. As he explained to his close friend of many years Will Arnet on the Wondery’s Smartless podcast, during those times he had manypersonal issues with drugs, alcohol and depression. Both talked about their strong bond as friends, which they maintained over the years and together they relived some of the darkest times they experienced together.

Bradley Cooper has spoken out about “feeling lost” during his addictions to drugs and alcohol two decades ago, before making “major breakthroughs” and becoming a father. The 47 year old welcomed his daughter Lea in 2017 with his then-partner Irina Shayk and has since gone on to become one of Hollywood’s most successful leading actors. Bradley candidly discussed his experience struggling with addiction in his late twenties as he appeared on the Smartless podcast with hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett.

Sarah Silverman has joined the cast of the Leonard Bernstein biopic “Maestro,” which will star and be directed by Bradley Cooper, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.According to Deadline, which first reported the news, Silverman is playing Bernstein’s sister.“Maestro” was originally set at Paramount, but Netflix took over with Martin Scorsese producing along with Steven Spielberg, who is producing via his Amblin Entertainment banner.
