MAC Cosmetics's Second Selena Quintanilla Collection is Available For Pre-Order Now

MAC Cosmetics has launched its highly anticipated second collection inspired by the late musician and style icon Selena Quintanilla. Marking the 25-year legacy of Quintanilla as the queen of Tejano music, the collection, created in collaboration with her family, is aptly called Selena La Reina, which translates to «Selena the Queen.»

The nine-year-old performer has already made a name for herself performing the national anthem at the biggest sporting events in Los Angeles and appearing in nationwide commercials. Madison’s star is set to get brighter as she has landed her biggest role to date – young Selena Quintanilla in the upcoming Netflix series. As a young entertainer, who was inspired by her father to perform, it’s no surprise that Madison and Selena’s early days align.

This year, her story will be told on screen once again, in a series set to premiere on Netflix.

Selena Quintanilla’s music legacy not only lives on through her five studio albums, but her array of music videos. 25 years after her death, fans have chance to remember the Queen of Tejano through the images she has left behind. The Mexican American songstress brought the essence and craft of her songs to life through the visuals which have been viewed on YouTube over a million times.

Selena Gomez, Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels appeared on Friday's episode of New Music Daily with Zane Lowe and spoke about the inspiration behind "Boyfriend." Tranter—who co-wrote the song with Gomez, Michaels, Jon Wienner and Sam Homaee—said the chorus "came super quick" and that they "had to massage the verses a couple times." He also said the chorus was maybe his "favorite" chorus that he's ever been a part of.  "It happened literally from a text message," Michaels added.
