Ballet flats might have first crept back onto our radar at the end of last year, but with the winter weather behind us, now is the perfect time to start wearing them. Although there’s nothing wrong with a classic leather pair, this spring is all about bringing new textures to the classic flats, with everything from mesh to crystal covered versions available.
Another luxe-looking upgrade that we’ve spotted lately is a woven leather design, which mimics one of spring’s favourite textured materials; raffia. However, raffia-covered flats aren’t exactly practical, which is why the style has been recreated in a leather material instead, just like Marks and Spencer’s Leather Woven Flat Ballet Pumps, £45 here.
The woven leather ballet flats are a chic way to wear the trending shoes, especially when they look just like Loeffler Randall’s Landry Woven-Leather Ballet Flats, £250 here, at a more affordable price point. Just like the designer pair, M&S’ version has a cross over woven texture and is made from 100% real leather, making them durable and long lasting.
They have a typical ballet flat design, with a squared off toe and rounded low front, with the addition of a pull on loop at the back making them easy to slip on and off without damaging the heel. However unlike the Loeffler Randall pair, they don’t have the dainty bow at the front that gives them the classic ballet flat look.
However, Carvela’s Luggage Bow-Embellished Leather Ballet Flats, £139 here, land right between the M&S pair and the Loeffler Randall ones when it comes to price, and have a more traditional rounded toe and, of course, the dainty bow complete with a silver charm. If you prefer M&S’ more budget-friendly pair, though, you can snap them up in three
