Love Island star Tom Clare has revealed he has been involved in a car accident. The reality star, who rose to fame after starring on hit ITV2 dating show Love Island at the beginning of the year, updated his loyal followers about the incident and explained that the accident 'wasn't his fault'. Tom, 24, who was previously a footballer, shared a candid snap to his Instagram Story on Thursday night which showed him relaxing on his bed with his feet up after the car ordeal.
He shared a glimpse of what happened by explaining that his car was now in the garage and that he'd have to drive a hire car until it was fixed. Tom posted the snap online alongside a caption which announced the car accident. He wrote: "Ended up in a car accident this morning.
"Wasn't my fault and luckily nobody was hurt. Car's gone into the garage and now getting a hire car." Tom's car accident comes just weeks after the former Islander opened up about his failed relationship with ex-girlfriend and former co-star on the show, Samie Elishi as he cryptically said: "You learn a lot about people". The former couple came third during the show's final in January.
Tom and Samie, both 23, met on the winter series of Love Island in early 2023, and they went on to date outside the villa before announcing their shock split just a couple of weeks later, with fans left surprised at the news.
The pair are then believed to have reconciled around June as Tom was seen liking Sammy's Instagram posts and they were spotted out and about together. But a few month later, Samie broke her silence to confirm that the pair are definitely not getting back together, but she is happy that she and Tom do not hate each other.
