From shock recouplings and love triangles to arguments over the washing up, there’s certainly been no shortage of drama in the current season of Love Island. There’s no sign of this slowing down anytime soon either, as Movie Night is finally here, following the recent Casa Amor drama.
After the 'ultimate relationship test,' the Islanders – and a few newbies who managed to turn heads – are back in the main villa, where they've faced the consequences of their actions. Every year, Casa Amor plays out in a similar way, with one or two couples opting to stay totally faithful, while the others make the most of the time apart by cracking on with the newbies under the guise of “testing” their original relationship. This year was no different, with Islanders including Casey, Tanya and Will wasting no time in getting to know the bombshells.
But is it ever ok to test your relationship and is there a better way of approaching it? Louella Alderson, co-founder of dating site So Syncd, says that consciously testing your relationship isn’t healthy. Speaking on behalf of Heart Bingo, she continues: “If someone in the relationship feels that their commitment to their partner needs to be tested, it’s a red flag.” “Testing yourself with the temptation of cheating is, quite simply, unnecessary if you value your partner.
Respect and honesty are key in any relationship, so it’s much better to communicate openly with one another than try testing yourself to see how much you like them.” Casa Amor has always been a crossroads moment for the couples, with the merging of the two villas inevitably sparking both breakups and makeups. For some, knowing that their romantic interest tested the waters with someone else is a total deal-breaker.
