Former Love Island star Kaz Crossley has shared a message on her Instagram Story following her release from jail in Dubai after she was arrested on suspicion of drug offences. The TV star, 28, is said to have spent four days behind bars and has now been released after "fully cooperating with officials." Kaz was arrested at Abu Dhabi airport, which she was travelling through on her way to Thailand, on Monday.
Her name is thought to have been flagged to the United Arab Emirates after a two year old video surfaced online of a woman, allegedly Kaz, appearing to sniff a white powder substance off a table whilst in Dubai. Following her release Kaz broke her social media silence and shared a message to Instagram Story, where she wrote: "I am safe, that you for all your kind messages.
"I want to take some time to reflect before I comment on the past few days. Grateful for so much right now.
We are so blessed..." A representative for Kaz confirmed her release to The Sun, telling the outlet: "Kaz has fully cooperated with officials and is free to continue her journey. "Kaz was travelling through Abu Dhabi on her way to Thailand, where she was stopped by UAE police and taken in for questioning in relation to a matter that is not directly related to her but officials felt she could assist in their enquiries." There are strict laws against alcohol and drug use in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which were recently amended, where first time offenders face a minimum of three months in jail and a fine between £4,500 and £22,800.
