Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has left fans in hysterics after she mispronounced the name of Irish city Limerick as she announced a visit there later this week. The former Love Island winner, 28, shared news that she will be doing meet and greets with fans as part of her collaboration with beauty brand BPerfect. Sharing a video on her Instagram Story, the TV star told fans: "Hi guys I'm extremely excited to meet you all for the meet and greet with BPerfect in Ireland this weekend.
"So, Thursday I'm in Belfast, Friday I'm in Wexford and Saturday I am at Lime-rick'. I cannot wait to meet you all, I'm super-excited, I love Ireland and I love you all so I'll see you there soon." Ekin-Su's fans were left in hysterics at the actress's mispronunciation of Limerick, which is pronounced li-muh-ruhk and not lime-rick, as she said.
Sharing the clip to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Really enjoying Ekin Su’s pronunciation of Limerick on her insta stories" followed by a skull emoji. "If Ekin-Su says it's Lime Rick then I'm going to call it Lime Rick" joked one fan, and another quipped: "You should be denied entry to the country if you say this." The Twitter account for the University of Limerick also got involved in the fun, posting: "Do we need to change our name to University of Lime-Rick now? #StudyatUL #Limerick." Ekin-Su then posted a second video apologising for the mispronunciation, saying: "Here's an interesting fact.
Apparently Lime-rick is called Lim-er-ick in Irish. I apologise, I said Lime-rick, but it's called Lim-er-ick!" she said.
It comes after the Turkish actress was reportedly dropped from her £1million contract with online fashion retailer Oh Polly, with sources close to her revealing that she is set to sue the brand. An insider
