Love Island fans have compared Casey O’Gorman’s talent show performance to Indiyah Polack’s after he (rather poorly) played the trumpet for his fellow Islanders. Monday night’s episode of Love Island, 6 March, saw recruitment consultant Casey choose to play a musical instrument for his act, while the likes of Lana Jenkins performed a magic trick, Ron Hall completed a Rubik’s Cube in 90 seconds, and Kai Faigan did a portrait of Will Young.
Following Casey’s undeniably shoddy – but entertaining – performance, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts and compared it to Indiyah’s hilarious recorder playing last season, as others noted it was similar to Millie Court’s iconic keyboard-playing. “Casey joins Millie and Indiyah in the hall of fame #loveisland,” tweeted one fan, as someone else said: “Just need millie on her keyboard, indiyah with her recorder & now Casey with his trumpet you have the perfect #loveisland orchestra”.
“Petition to see Indiyah and Casey do a talent show together,” quipped another, as a fourth went on: “casey really did try to have indiyah moment though, but it was still funny #loveisland”. Other notable performances to join the Love Island talent show hall of fame include Chris Hughes, Kem Cetinay and Marcel Somerville’s act.
Comedy duo Chris and Kem performed a rap while Marcel played the keyboard. Chris and Kem's talent show performance appeared to spark the beginning of the pair's music career, and they went on to officially release Little Bit Leave It after leaving the villa. The track made it to number 15 in the UK Singles Chart in 2017.
