Love Island fans brand recoupling 'awkward' as Deji and Coco 'haven't even spoken'

Fans of Love Island branded Thursday 14 July night's recoupling as "awkward" after Deji Adeniyi was forced to couple up with Coco Lodge. They were both the last Islanders left after all of the other couples were established and Deji had to make a speech about why he wanted to couple up with her, despite the pair not previously having any real connection. Deji slightly stumbled over his words as he said: "I'd like to couple up with this girl because even though it's early days and we barely know each other, I'm sure we share similar interests and goals.
"Only time will reveal all, so I'm excited to see where the journey leads us. "So the girl I'd like to couple up with is Coco". The pair shared a hug as Coco joined Deji at the fire pit.
Fans of the show took to Twitter to comment on their lack of any apparent relationship, with one person writing: They don’t know each other at all.NOT EVEN BARLEY #Loveisland" Another person said: "Bless Deji trying to come up with a list of reasons he wants to couple up with Coco". Someone else tweeted: "Coco and Deji as a couple is so awkward eek bless them".The pair have had a rough time of things since their arrival on Love Island, as they were both new bombshells in Casa Amor. Deji hasn't seen much airtime on the show, following the demise of his short-lived relationship with Indiyah Polack, 23.
