As Love Island creeps toward its third week in the villa, fans at home have already begun to take a keen and vested interest in the lives of this year's contestants. From famous exes to surprising icks, we've been learning plenty about the series 10 contestants on their journey to find love.
But while we’ve only just begun to get to know the contestants, one common question on everyone's minds is what exactly do the Islanders do for a living, when they're not sunning it up in Mallorca and hoping to turn a fair few heads? In previous years, we've had everything from a qualified paramedic through to a hands-on farmer, and this year is certainly no exception having given us a wealth of varied professions for our favourite Islanders to excel at. Here’s everything we know about the contestants' jobs outside the villa so far.
Scott Van Der Sluis Scott Van Der Sluis may be known to many of us for his role as the latest bombshell to enter the villa, but outside of the show he has already carved a successful career for himself as a professional football player for Bangor City and Shelbourne. He was originally signed to Manchester United as an eight year old prospect in 2009, before later transferring to Liverpool.
As a senior player, Scott later found success with Bangor City but departed the club in 2022 to join League of Ireland professional team Shelbourne. Sadly however, he was never seen on the pitch at the club as he reportedly left the squad to appear on Love Island, something the manager jokingly confirmed has ruled him out of returning in the future.
