Love Island has revealed its first 2023 couples for the new summer series, which launched on Monday 5 June. In an ITV2 show twist, which host Maya Jama revealed ahead of the series, the public voted who they wanted to pair up together in the villa.
And this wasn't the only surprise for fans on Monday night as for the first time ever both boys and girls entered the villa together. Once the first five Islanders had arrived, Love Island host Maya, 28, made an epic arrival as she strutted through the famous flower walkway.
Maya said: "Hello my lovelies! Do you want to head over to the firepit for a chat?" She added: "Well you have all had a bit of time to get to know each other, however, I have got some news…", revealing that the decision of who the Islanders will couple up with has already been made for them by the public. Maya then gathered the five stunned Islanders in the garden as the first coupling of the series got underway.
One by one, the remaining five Islanders entered the Villa and found out the result of the public vote. After the couples were decided, Maya teased while leaving the villa: "I think it’s fair to say on Love Island you should 100% expect the unexpected!" Here, OK! takes a look at the new 2023 Love Island couples...
