Louis Tomlinson has spoken of his devastation after his concert was halted by a terrifying hailstorm that injured his fans. The former One Direction singer, 31, was due to perform at the Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre near Denver, Colorado, on Wednesday night.
But the show had to be postponed when the freak hailstorm at the open-air venue left fans fleeing for safety. There were reports afterwards that fans were wounded by the giant hailstones while some even suffered broken bones as they rushed for cover.The concert - part of Louis' Faith in the Future world tour - was delayed at first due to the adverse weather, but ended up being postponed later in the evening.The singer-songwriter later took to Twitter to send a message to his fans.
The dad of one wrote: "Devastated about the show tonight, hope everyone's ok, I'll be back! Even though we didn't play the show I felt all of your passion! Sending you all love!" Fans who attended the show also took to social media to discuss what happened. “Tonight was the scariest night of my life,” one wrote on Twitter.
“It started pelting people with hail at Red Rocks and my sister and I luckily found shelter under a sign. I am bleeding and have huge bumps on my head from the hail.” Another fan revealed she was forced to take a friend to get medical attention following the storm.
“I am safe and at the hospital with someone that fell and needs x-rays on a possible fractured wrist,” she wrote. “There are possible head injuries, another broken hand, and a sprained ankle among the people I know.” The local fire department shared that they had taken seven people to local hospitals “with non-life-threatening injuries” while they had treated a further “70-80” attendees at the scene.The show
