The premise of Apple TV+’s “Loot,” featuring multi-Emmy Award-winning star Maya Rudolph, was pretty simple. After divorcing her husband of 20 years, Molly Novak (Rudolph) became filthy rich and must figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement.
She decides to reengage with her charitable foundation and reconnect with the real world—and finds herself along the way. Of course, being totally privileged and shallow, her journey towards philanthropy is problematic, tone-deaf, and bumpy along the way, which is meant to be the comedy of it all.
