Loose Women's Denise Welch is set to play Queen Elizabeth II in an upcoming Princess Diana musical, named Diana the Musical. The 65 year old is no stranger to acting, having starred in Coronation Street, Hollyoaks and Waterloo road during her lengthy career. The concert version of Diana the Musical will see an older Diana both narrating and reflecting back on her life and that of her 19-year old self, played in two parts, by Kerry Ellis (Wicked, Anything Goes) and Maiya Quansah-Breed (original cast member of Six).
Denise will play the late Queen Elizabeth II in the show, which will take place at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on 4 December 2023 at 7.30pm. The TV star has posted about her upcoming show on Instagram, as well as reposting her friends' posts about it. Over the top of one, she wrote: "The Queen.
December 4th. Eventim Apollo. "Get your tickets b*****s." In another post, Denise could be seen in her Coronation Street character as Natalie Barnes, as King Charles - then Prince Charles - could be seen enjoying a tipple as he leaned one elbow on the bar.
