Livingston striker Bruce Anderson says the injury that denied him the chance of putting his name in the club’s record books is driving him on to achieve greater success this term.
The former Aberdeen frontman picked up an ankle knock in March that ruled him out for the remainder of the year having bagged 11 top flight goals in his debut campaign in West Lothian.
That figure was one shy of the club’s best single-season Premiership record, achieved by Derek Lilley in the 2003/04 season.
He’s made a positive start this year, opening his account in the League Cup win over Albion Rovers and says: “It was a frustrating end to the season. I feel like I was just hitting a bit of form so for me it’s just about channelling that frustration into the new season and hopefully kicking on.
“I recovered quicker than we thought and then I was in the gym just walking backwards and turned it again. It was back to square one really but it’s just one of those freak accidents. I was gutted, I couldn’t believe it.”
He added: “I would maybe have had a chance of being the top goalscorer so that was the biggest frustration other than not being able to help out the team. That was something that I was really disappointed in not getting.
“For me, with the way the season ended it’s just about channelling that frustration and taking confidence from what I did last season. Hopefully I can kick on and do even better this season.”

Zack Sharf Will Tom Cruise be leaving the “Mission: Impossible” franchise following the release of the upcoming “Dead Reckoning” entries? Sources have said that the seventh and eighth “Mission: Impossible” movies (being released as “Dead Reckoning – Part 1” and “Dead Reckoning – Part 2”) are designed as “a sendoff for Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character,” but director Christopher McQuarrie said on the “Light the Fuse” podcast that you can’t believe everything you read. However, the director wouldn’t confirm or deny the speculation.Asked if the “Dead Reckoning” movies will be the end of Cruise’s tenure with the action franchise, McQuarrie responded, “Let me tell you, I’ve been working with Tom Cruise for 15 years and I cannot tell you the number of times I’ve been standing next to the man, witnessed an event and then read about it in the trades the next day and none of what they describe is actually true.” McQuarrie launched into an example: “We were in Birmingham shooting a scene between Tom and Haley [Atwell].

Jennifer Maas TV Business WriterNetflix co-CEO Reed Hastings declared during the streamer’s Q2 earnings interview Tuesday that linear television will go the way of the dinosaur within the next decade.“It’s definitely the end of linear TV over the next 5 to 10 years,” Hastings said while discussing Netflix’s financial and subscriber results on the pre-recorded Q&A, which came on the heels of the reveal the streamer lost 970,000 subscribers in Q2. That loss was actually a win for Netflix, which had originally expected to lose 2 million subscribers by the end of June 30.Though very bold, Hastings thoughts on the state of linear television are hardly a shock given his position at the top of the world’s biggest streamer — and they carry forward data touted by Netflix earlier Tuesday.
