Livingston defender putting possible exit aside in bid to fire Lions up the table

Jack Fitzwater knows every game just now could be his last for Livingston but he's putting that to the back of his mind as he hopes to fire the Lions up the table.
The 25-year-old defender is on the transfer list as David Martindale looks to cash in on the centre-back this month before his expected exit in the summer as his three-year stint in West Lothian comes to an end.
Fitzwater, who has been a constant in the heart of Livi's back four during the last two seasons, says his time at the club has been 'perfect' as they gear up for today's trip to Perth to take on St Johnstone.
He commented: "You see and hear about things, it's hard to avoid, but I've just been focused on putting myself in the best shape to play for Livingston and help the team.
"Nothing's really changed on that. If I do well on the pitch it means Livingston do well. Last season and in the summer there was a lot of noise as well but you just have to focus on what you can control
"I moved up during covid and took it with both hands. It's been perfect for me. I've played a lot of games and it's exactly what I wanted to do. I've had good exposure in terms of playing in big stadium and big teams as well as different oppositions. I'm thoroughly enjoying my time here.
"If you think about the uncertainty, you take away from your concentration on the pitch. If you think about stuff you can't control that's when you're in trouble. It's a great group of lads and I'm just focused on getting three points."
Fitzwater has also backed former team-mate and assistant manager Marvin Bartley to be a huge success as the newly-appointed Queen of the South managerial prepares for his debut today at Montrose.
