A phenomenon that I will never get tired of is people who look kinda sorta like rappers getting mistaken for the real deal. One of the new stars of that league is Shmurkio, a Florida resident who got dressed like Lil Durk for a YouTube video, fake tattoos and all, and successfully tricked shoppers at a mall.
Durk apparently saw the humor in it, and hired Shmurkio to play him in the music video for "Blocklist." It's true that Shmurkio has a disconcerting resemblance to the real Durk – looking at his face makes me feel like I'm having a stroke, in a way. This undercuts the song's ostensibly serious dispatch of a man torn between fast and loose relationships and his fiancee India.
But that just makes it more interesting to watch than it would have if the real Durk was in the video. Watch it above and listen to the real Lil Durk's new album 7220.
