Liam Payne has finally addressed the confusion surrounding the accents he used at the Oscars. The former One Direction bandmate, 28, confused people across the globe after he was filmed chatting to a Good Morning Britain presenter at the Oscars on Sunday 27 March. Discussing Will Smith’s actions on the night after he slapped Chris Rock, Liam said: "I believe whatever he felt that he did, he had the right to do.
I also felt that there were three losers in one fight, he didn’t know being Chris Rock, he didn’t want to do what he had to do being Will Smith and she did nothing being Jada.” After the interview aired, it wasn’t Liam’s comments that everyone was talking about… but his ever-changing accent. Now, over three weeks later, Liam has addressed why his accent kept changing. “This was in Oscars week – the ever changing accent,” he began in an Instagram live to his 24.2 million Instagram followers.
“I’m good at accents, I pride myself on them! I just wish sometimes I could do my own. “What can I say about that really? It was quite funny. I had asked Good Morning Britain, the presenter, I said, ‘Please don’t ask me too much because I’ve had a lot to drink and I’m under-ly educated about the Oscars’.
