Liam Neeson’s Latest Action Film, ‘Retribution,’ Releases Official Trailer

Emiliano De Pablos TelevisaUnivision’s ViX has dropped the official trailer of romantic comedy “Dime lo que Quieres (De Verdad),” which is set to premiere July 27 on the streamer. “Dime lo que Quieres” toplines Manolo Cardona (“Who Killed Sara?”), “Club of Crows’”Stephanie Cayo, Angie Cepeda (“Encanto”) and “Better Call Saul’s” Tony Dalton. Peruvian actor-helmer Bruno Ascenzo (“Hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar,” “A los 40”) is directing the ViX Original movie, a production by Colombian outfit 11:11 Films & TV.  Brothers Juancho and Manolo Cardona, Stephanie Cayo, FilmSharks’ Guido Rud and Patagonik Film Group’s Juan Vera, Juan Pablo Galli and Christian Faillace executive produce.

Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief Netflix is to release its Japanese live action film “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead,” on Aug. 3. The horror comedy film is based on the hit manga (comic book series) by Aso Haro and Takata Kotaro that debuted in the Shogakukan magazine Monthly Sunday Gene-X in October 2018. It has also spawned an animated series that plays on Hulu in North American and other territories. The underlying comic is a wackily original melding of the salaryman gag manga – a popular genre in Japan seldom exported abroad – with the sort of zombie holocaust story that has become a Hollywood staple.

Charna Flam Disney+ has released a new trailer for the upcoming “Star Wars” series, “Ahsoka,” providing fans a look at the series’ villain, Grand Admiral Thrawn. It was announced in April at the Star Wars Celebration fan convention, that Lars Mikkelsen would be set to reprise his role as the “Star Wars” villain and embody the character in the live-action series. Thrawn was originally created by author Timothy Zahn as part of a series of 1990s Star Wars novels chronicling the events following 1983’s “Return of the Jedi,” and he quickly became a fan-favorite character. However, after Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, Thrawn’s character was removed from the official “Star Wars” canon. Then in 2016, Dave Filoni revived the character and brought him back into a galaxy far, far away after adding him to the “Star Wars Rebels” animated series. Throughout the show, Mikkelsen voiced the character.

The new series is based on Holly Ringland’s 2018 debut novel of the same name, which chronicles the story of Alice Hart, her family and their dynamics in the Australian outback. “When Alice, aged 9, tragically loses her parents in a mysterious fire, she is taken to live with her grandmother June at Thornfield flower farm, where she learns that there are secrets within secrets about her and her family’s past. As she grows from her complicated past, Alice’s journey builds to an emotional climax when she finds herself fighting for her life against a man she loves,” per the official press release.

Prince William and Prince George had a fun day out on Saturday. The Prince of Wales and his 9-year-old son took in a cricket game at the Lord's Cricket ground in London.William, 41, and George were seen sitting in a box as they watched the game. For the outing, William wore a light blue button up shirt, under gray sport coat.

The Prince of Wales and Prince George have enjoyed a father and son day out at the cricket. George, aged nine, was seen tucking into a slice of pizza while his father talked with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.The royal pair were spotted watching the second Ashes test match from a box at Lord’s cricket ground in London on Saturday 1 July. Commentators on social media noted how alike the father and son appeared as they both wore blue blazers and light-coloured shirts while watching England take on Australia, where Stuart Broad is playing.

McKinley Franklin editor Film historian Phil Hopkins has launched Film Masters, a new vintage film restoration and distribution company.  Each month, one Blu-ray/DVD title will be released, beginning on Sept. 26 with a two-disc collection featuring cult favorite “The Giant Gila Monster” with bonus film “The Killer Shrews,” which were both originally released as a double-feature bill in 1959. Following the pilot slate, the 1959 horror “Beast From Haunted Cove” will release on Oct. 24 followed by the 1934 drama “The Scarlett Letter” on Nov. 21. Upon each release, films will be restored with new 4k scans of 35mm with original film elements, offered in original aspect ratios while being presented on region-free discs with DTS-HD sound and Dolby AC3s sound.
