Lewis Capaldi was forced to halt his performance in Manchester last night after a fight broke out in the crowd.
The West Lothian singer temporarily stopped playing after a commotion erupted at the AO Arena on Wednesday night. Lewis, 26, was in the middle of performing his hit song Hold Me While You Wait when he noticed a fight break out in the crowd and stopped mid-tune.
The Scots singing sensation quickly held his hands up to his band while the lights in the venue came on to allow security to do their job and get them out. Lewis hilariously noted it was a "bizarre" song for a fight to break out during.
Lewis was heard saying: "They are scrapping in the crowd there. Erm, we are going to have to get them out."
Once the audience realised what had taken place, the crowd soon stopped singing along to the tune and booed the fighters. Once the issue had been resolved, Lewis, who is embarking on his sold-out UK tour, said: "We can't be fighting," before adding: "What a weird song to fight to. Bizarre, bizarre."
After the scuffle was sorted, the crowd began to excitedly chant: '"Oh Lewis Capaldi" before he started the song from the beginning again, much to the delight of the packed venue.
One fan who attended the gig later told the Manchester Evening News: "I couldn’t see the fight itself with the area being full, but Lewis Capaldi stopped the song and lit the area up in order for security to get to the fight.
"He started the song again after taking the mick out of them for fighting. He started saying it was daft how anyone could fight to that song."
