It happened! Lea Michele is officially Fanny Brice in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl, and plenty of Glee fans think it’s fulfilling her destiny laid out in the show.
The 36-year-old actress was one of the stars of the popular series from its launch in 2009.
In case you forgot, Lea‘s character Rachel Berry was cast as Fanny in a revival of the musical during the fifth season of Glee.
Seeing her take the stage and receive four standing ovations before the musical’s first intermission Tuesday night (September 6) feels like something of a self fulfilling prophesy to fans that have followed her journey over the years.
