Laura Whitmore hits back at Love Island contestant's jibe on how she landed presenting gig

Love Island fans have voiced their belief that the upcoming series, which is due to air next month, should be fronted by a brand new host.Taking to Twitter, viewers of ITV2's much-loved dating show are calling for current presenter Laura Whitmore - who has fronted the series since 2020 following the death of Caroline Flack - to step down from the role and be replaced by MTV's newest talent, Nella Rose. Primarily a YouTube star, boasting 717,000 subscribers, 20-year-old Nella started off her career by regularly posting viral videos with her friends, the likes of which included 'Things girls do that boys don't like', 'Growing up in an African household' and 'Things to leave in 2018'.

Winter Love Island will be making a return after two years, ITV bosses have confirmed. The ITV2 programme first aired back in January 2020, but has been absent from screens ever since due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The spin-off show was created after the summer version proved immensely popular with viewers, and will now return for a second series.

Kaz Kamwi and Liberty Poole have reportedly been left terrified after they were said to have been held at knifepoint in Los Angeles. Love Island besties Kaz, 26, and Liberty, 22, were said to be heading on a night out when they ended up in "the wrong part of the neighbourhood" and were threatened by a 40 year old woman. Kaz and Liberty were then reportedly defended by two men, who were said to be passing by, who apprehended the attacker and called the police.

Laura Whitmore has clapped back at Love Island star Rachel Finni's claims she got the job hosting the show because of her now-husband Iain Stirling.TV star Laura, 36, took over from Caroline Flack in 2020 and has continued to host the ITV2 dating show following the star's tragic death. Former Islander Rachel recently claimed Laura landed the job because her now-husband Iain, who narrates the show. Rachel, 29, also said Laura "isn't a great presenter" during a chat with Murad Merali in a YouTube interview.

Love Island star has taken a brutal swipe at host Laura Whitmore - saying she was only in the role because she is married to narrator Iain Stirling. Rachel Finni, who appeared on last year's show, added that you don't associate the star with the hit ITV2 dating programme. "I'm kind of gutted Laura Whitmore is hosting it though, I thought we'd get a Maya Jama or AJ Odudu," she told Murad Merali's YouTube channel.
