Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent TrustNordisk has closed a U.K. deal on “Before It Ends,” a WW2-set drama with “Games of Thrones” star Pilou Asbæk, unfolding during the final stages of Nazi Occupation in Denmark. Signature Entertainment has bought U.K. rights to the movie. “Before It Ends,” whose trailer has just been unveiled (see below), was written and directed by Anders Walter, known for his Oscar-winning short film “Helium” and “I Kill Giants” which played at Toronto in 2017. The feature was produced by Nordisk Film Production in collaboration with Growing Studios. Asbæk stars alongside Danish talent Katrine Greis-Rosenthal (“A Taste of Hunger,” Ulrich Thomsen (“The Marco Effect”) and Morten Hee Andersen (“A Matter of Trust”), and German actor Peter Kurth (“Inventing Anna”).

Gene Maddaus Senior Media Writer Netflix is poised to score big from two tax incentives that are moving through the state legislatures in California and New Jersey this week. In California, the legislature is set to approve a five-year extension of the state’s $330 million incentive for film and TV production. For the first time, the tax credit will be refundable — meaning that companies like Netflix, which does not have California tax liability, will be able to benefit. And in New Jersey, the legislature is moving forward on a significant expansion of a state incentive for film and TV infrastructure. That expansion is designed in part to help Netflix redevelop Fort Monmouth, a former military base on the Jersey Shore, as a production facility.

Jared Leto has surprised passers by in Germany after he was spotted scaling the wall of a hotel.Leto has filmed climbing a stone wall of five-star Hotel De Rome in Berlin on Monday (June 5) in joggers and a t-shirt, but without any harness attached. In videos shared to social media, Leto can be seen scaling the wall while a group of passers by gathered to observe what was going on.Leto climbed a few feet off the ground to the hotel balcony before he climbed back down the wall safely.As yet, it’s unclear why Leto was scaling the wall but TMZ have reported that Leto was spotted with TikToker Younes Zarou, who is known for wild stunts and illusion videos.
